PROGRAM & RECORDED SESSIONS

2021 THEME:

The COVID pandemic has been a traumatic and disruptive experience for the life of many. Health professionals and patients alike moved through hope and despair, as they faced sickness and death. However, this challenging time has been also a unique opportunity for advancement in medical science and in the awareness of what lies at the core of the health care profession.

The 2021 MedConference reviewed the production of a novel and efficacious vaccine developed in an extraordinarily short time, thanks to previous years of hidden dedicated research. This discovery unveils the meaning of doing research in the context of a health care emergency, with the potential of unprecedented improvements in global health. The conference also focused on the relational nature of the person and the challenge that a person, whether a health care worker or a patient, faces in times of isolation and suffering. Lastly, health care workers presented their experience from the battlefield in a time of intense burnout and shared how the time of pandemic has been also an opportunity to grow, to re-discover the origin and the goal of our profession.
